Mobile safety solution for operator safety on press brakes
Fiessler Elektronik safety solutions for press brakes consist of an optical safety device and a safety controller. The components are CE-approved, UL-listed and comply with other national and international standards.
A three-dimensional laser protective field between the AKAS ® transmitter and AKAS ® receiver monitors the danger zone beneath the clamped upper tool. Thanks to the special beam arrangement, protection is guaranteed right up to the danger zone.
Depending on the machine's performance ("press brake braking distance"), the press can be operated at high speed until the upper tool touches the sheet to be bent. The result: maximum safety for maximum productivity.
The AKAS ® press brake safety system is available in various versions, so it can be optimally adapted to any situation. Safe zone: protection zone (any intervention in this zone stops the press closing movement).

System description
Safety for AKAS press brakes
On press brakes, different tools can be used depending on the application. The AKAS® system is available with a fully automatic electromotive support for transmitter and receiver, so that the necessary adjustment after a tool change is possible without loss of time.

AMS3
AMS 3
The AMS 3 muting system generates the control and muting signals required for AKAS®-F in accordance with safety category 4 or PLe. Two magnetic tape sensors are connected to the AMS 3 to record information about the direction of movement and speed. One sensor for the Y1 axis and one sensor for Y2. In addition, the AMS 3 can perform the overtravel measurement in rapid traverse.
AKFH/R AKAS®-F in combination with an AKFH (Hörbiger Hydraulik) or AKFR (Rexroth Hydraulik) provides complete safety control and protection of a press brake with hydraulics. It complies with Cat. 4 EN 954 or PL e EN 13849. AKAS®-F with the AKFH/R interface performs all the safety tasks of a press brake in the simplest way without additional terminals and relays. AKFH/R reads the valve position transmitters of the hydraulic valves and transfers them to AKAS®-F in a linked manner. AKAS®-F thus checks the correct function of the valves and sends the safe enable signal to the AKFH/R, so that AKFH/R enables the valve controls via 5 safe potential-free normally open contacts. The release of the valves is immediately blocked in the event of:
interruption of the AKAS® protective field
opening of safety doors, - actuation of the emergency stop, - valve switching error, - error in AKFH/R, - error in AKAS®-F
AKRB AKAS® F + AMS 3 + AKRB enable complete safety control and protection of a press brake and comply with safety categories type 4 (IEC 61496) and PL e (EN ISO 13849). In combination, AKAS® F and AMS3 together with the AKRB safety contact extension take over all safety-relevant functions of a press brake - quickly, reliably and particularly easy to implement.
Accessories
AKAS® bracket
The variable mounting options of the bracket enable optimum adaptation to different requirements and impress with their great stability and high torsional rigidity. A wide range of adjustment options ensure that the positioning can be set precisely. A high level of repeat accuracy is achieved, particularly with swivel and sliding versions. The mounting bracket is suitable for all AKAS® systems with support and offers extensive mounting and adjustment options. A swivel-mounted intermediate piece also makes it easier to swivel the AKAS® away, for example when changing tools.
LSUW N1 Muting K
LSUW N1 Muting K
In addition to the power supply, the LSUW N1 Muting K switching device contains all the switching elements required for the safe activation of power-driven work equipment or for activating an alarm. This considerably reduces the additional switching work that is otherwise often required.
The following function groups are integrated as standard
Control for the light barrier transmitter
Monitoring of the light barrier
Start and restart interlock and monitoring of valves or contactors
Two potential-free, monitored NO contacts for controlling the downstream machine
Activation and monitoring of the muting sensors
Monitoring of the muting lamp
Integrated bridging function (muting)
Programmable muting function with or without time monitoring
