The light curtains described here comply with safety categories Type 4 (IEC 61496), SIL 3 (IEC 61508), PL e (EN ISO 13849)

Function
The BLCT safety light curtains consist of two components: Light emitter and receiver. The distance between the two components and the overall height result in the protective field width and protective field height (Fig.).
Thanks to the modular design, protective field heights from 100 mm to 1500 mm are available in 100 mm increments. The transmitter generates infrared light beams that are switched on and off in quick succession. The parallel light beams are evaluated in the receiver by two single-chip microcontrollers. The resolution is determined by the beam distance. If an object is located in the protective field, i.e. at least one of the beams is darkened, the two outputs of the receiver interrupt the dangerous movement of the machine or prevent it from starting. In the operating mode with restart interlock, the machine can only be restarted by pressing the start button while the protective field is clear again.

Accessories

BPXC - Programming device operating mode
With the BPXC operating mode programming device, the various programming modes can be programmed quickly and easily without changing the wiring. To do this, the device is connected between the supply voltage and the xLCT receiver.

Deflecting mirror
Mirror columns are available for free positioning of the mirrors in the room. The columns are fully equipped with mirrors in various heights, including a compensation plate. The columns are also optionally available with vibration dampers.

Pillar mounting
Mounting pillars for mirrors and light barriers are available to enable the light barriers to be set up anywhere in the room. These columns can make installation easier, especially when safeguarding access areas.

Alignment aid laser
This alignment aid laser is particularly helpful for long ranges or deflection via mirrors. The device is suitable for all the safety light barriers described here. It is attached to the light barrier with a rubber band. This makes the viewing direction of the LS visible and it can be optimally aligned with the receiver.

ULSG
The ULSG switching device provides potential-free output contacts and a universal power supply (optionally 230 V AC, 115 V AC or 24 V DC connection). The ULSG switching device fulfills the power failure bridging of 20 ms required by EN 60204 and is therefore suitable as a power supply for the ULVT / BLVT / TLVT / ILVT, ULCT / BLCT / TLCT / ILCT light curtains and FLSC area scanners.
- Universal power supply for light curtains
- Connection of 24 VDC, 115 VAC or 230 VAC possible
- Potential-free output contacts
- Connection for 2 to 6 light curtains
- Simple series connection with additional safety sensors
- Connection to standard safety bus nodes possible
- Cost-effective solution if 24 VDC is not available
- high switching capacity - top-hat rail mounting

BLPG - Blanking programmer
Programming is carried out by pressing a key switch. The programming device is not absolutely necessary for operating the light grid and can be removed again once programming is complete. Teach-in of the beam blanking functions with BLPG via external key switch (BLVT programming device) for PLSG2/PLSG3 Save and recall up to 5 operating modes in PLSG3 Save and recall up to 5 operating modes in PLSG3 and simultaneously up to 5 beam blanking modes in BLVT light grid

BPSG - Blanking programmer with power supply
Blanking programmer and switching device like type BLPG, but with additional power supply and force-guided relay with potential-free outputs.
- Simple programming of blanking light curtains
- Connection of 24 VDC, 115 VAC or 230 VAC possible
- potential-free output contacts - top hat rail mounting
- Selector switch operation
- Device can be removed after programming
- Blanking program is stored directly in the receiver
- No PC required for programming
- Desired blanking type can be set via DIP switch

FMSC-PSDI
Application
The FMSC-PSDI cycle switching device can be used to implement 1-cycle, 2-cycle or protective operation on a light barrier.
The individual operating modes can be selected via a selector switch. If the system is in the Monitor Start Point, the start button must be pressed.
Depending on the selection, the number of interruptions then occurs. The safe outputs sO1 and sO2 are enabled by pressing the start button again.
The relay optionally connected to these outputs is monitored for the switching states.
An input can optionally be used to select whether the interventions are only counted in the Motion Start Point or during the safe movement. An input can also be used to select whether a start is possible after an interruption in all positions or only in the Motion Start Point.
Additional outputs are available for displaying a monitoring error, an interrupt request, a muting signal, the motion start point and for requesting the operation of a start button.
