Flexible safety light curtain for a wide range of machine applications
The ULVT is a powerful safety light curtain for safeguarding danger zones on machines - ideal for press brakes, machining centers, assembly stations or injection moulding machines, for example. With protective field heights of up to 1900 mm, ranges of up to 24 m and a resolution from 14 mm, it offers reliable protection for fingers and hands - even at short safety distances. Thanks to integrated safety functions such as contactor monitoring, restart interlock and self-diagnosis, the ULVT is ready for immediate use - without additional safety modules. Its robust IP65 design and fast response time from 6 ms make it the ideal solution for industrial applications:
Press brakes
Assembly workstations
Bending machines
Machining centers
Filter presses
Woodworking machines
Cable processing machines
Assembly workstations
presses
Rotary transfer machines
Machines for injection molding
Ultrasonic machines
Very short response time (6-25 ms) for minimum safety distances.
Finger protection up to 10 m, hand protection up to 30 m with a resolution of 14/30 mm.

The light curtains described here comply with safety categories Type 4 (IEC 61496), SIL 3 (IEC 61508), PL e (EN ISO 13849)
Function
Functional description of ULVT light curtains
ULVT safety light curtains consist of two main components: the light transmitter and the receiver. The distance between the two and the overall height determine the width and height of the protective field. Thanks to the modular design, protective field heights from 100 mm to 1900 mm are available.
Transmitter and receiver work synchronously so that only one light beam and one receiver element are active at any one time. Synchronization takes place via the first light beam and the first receiver element, so that no electrical connection between transmitter and receiver is required.
The transmitter generates infrared light beams that are quickly switched on and off. These parallel light beams with a distance of 7.5 mm are controlled by two single-chip microcontrollers and guarantee a resolution of 14 mm.
In the receiver, all receiving elements are evaluated synchronously by two single-chip microcontrollers. If an object is detected in the protective field, the two outputs of the receiver interrupt the dangerous movement of the machine or prevent a restart. A restart in the operating mode with restart interlock is only possible by pressing the start button when the protective field is clear again.
Several LEDs on the receiver indicate the current operating status. If an internal or external error is detected, the machine is stopped immediately and the LEDs on the transmitter or receiver signal the error status by flashing.

Relay extension LSRA
Relay extension LSRA The ULVT and BLVT series safety light barriers are equipped with electronic semiconductor outputs as standard. The LSRA plug-in relay extension module is available so that higher currents or voltages can be switched directly with the outputs. The two potential-free relay outputs of the LSRA make it easy to connect several safety light barriers or safety sensors in series. The LSRA relay extension allows the ULVT, BLVT safety light barriers to be connected to a large number of safety bus nodes.
Umlenkspiegel
Deflecting mirror
Mirror columns are available for free positioning of the mirrors in the room. The columns are fully equipped with mirrors in various heights, including a compensation plate. The columns are also optionally available with vibration dampers.
Column mounting for light barriers
Pillar mounting Mounting pillars for mirrors and light barriers are available to enable the light barriers to be set up anywhere in the room. These columns can make installation easier, especially when safeguarding access areas.
Alignment aid laser This alignment aid laser is particularly helpful for long ranges or deflection via mirrors. The device is suitable for all the safety light barriers described here. It is attached to the light barrier with a rubber band. This makes the viewing direction of the LS visible and it can be optimally aligned with the receiver.
ULSG
ULSG
The ULSG switching device provides potential-free output contacts and a universal power supply (optionally 230 V AC, 115 V AC or 24 V DC connection). The ULSG switching device fulfills the power failure bridging of 20 ms required by EN 60204 and is therefore suitable as a power supply for the ULVT / BLVT / TLVT / ILVT, ULCT / BLCT / TLCT / ILCT light curtains and FLSC area scanners.

Connection of 24 VDC, 115 VAC or 230 VAC possible
Potential-free output contacts
Connection for 2 to 6 light curtains
Simple series connection with additional safety sensors
Connection to standard safety bus nodes possible
Cost-effective solution if 24 VDC is not available
high switching capacity - top-hat rail mounting
FMSC-PSDI
FMSC-PSDI
Application
The FMSC-PSDI cycle switching device can be used to implement 1-cycle, 2-cycle or protective operation on a light barrier. The individual operating modes can be selected via a selector switch. If the system is in the Monitor Start Point, the start button must be pressed. Depending on the selection, the number of interruptions then occurs. The safe outputs sO1 and sO2 are enabled by pressing the start button again. The relay optionally connected to these outputs is monitored for the switching states. An input can optionally be used to select whether the interventions are only counted in the Motion Start Point or during the safe movement. An input can also be used to select whether a start is possible after an interruption in all positions or only in the Motion Start Point. Additional outputs are available for displaying a monitoring error, an interrupt request, a muting signal, the motion start point and for requesting the operation of a start button.
